Cost of college went up for all students at Springfield College

Tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Springfield College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Massachusetts students paid $37,444 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $909 more than the $36,535 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 641 students received grants or scholarships totaling $14.5 million and 541 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,139), 2,131 students used grants or scholarships totaling $46 million, and 1,762 students took out $12 million in federal student loans.
