Springfield Technical Community College will offer an evening Phlebotomy for Healthcare Workers course beginning July 12.
The course will run July 12 through Aug. 30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
The 60-hour training, which is designed for individuals licensed in various medical fields, prepares students to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam to become a certified phlebotomist in Massachusetts. The NHA exam is scheduled for Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.
Prospective students should have current certifications in at least one, but not limited to, the following healthcare roles:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Patient Care Technician (PCT)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Certified Electrocardiogram Technician (CET)
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
