Game One - Springfield 8, Keene State 1
Springfield jumped out to a fast start in the opener, tallying four runs in the first inning. Callie Gendron (Berlin, Conn.) got the first runs on the board as her single to left field with the bases loaded plated a pair before Gillian Kane (New Canaan, Conn.) ripped a run-scoring single up the middle and Alli Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) added a sacrifice fly on her own.
The Pride would tack on two more runs in the second, as with a pair of runners in scoring position, Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) came up with a run-scoring single and Gendron reached on a fielder's choice as Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) crossed home plate to make it a 6-0 contest.
The visitors were able to get a run back in the third on a bases loaded walk, only to have Springfield seal the game with two more runs in the sixth thanks to a run-scoring double by Pecchia and Michaela Ponticello (Gloversville, N.Y.) completing the scoring with a RBI single.
Kane went the distance as she scattered three hits and struck out four en route to the victory.
Game Two - Springfield 8, Keene State 0 (6 inn.)
Springfield was able to score eight runs off just seven hits as it wrapped up the doubleheader sweep in six innings. Kristen Acocella (Redding, Conn.) got things started in the first with a run-scoring single to center and Michaela Ponticello (Gloversville, N.Y.) followed by lifting a double to left to push Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) across home plate to make it 2-0.
In the second, Mackenzie Doyle (Glocester, R.I.) kept the inning alive with a two-out single and would later score when Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) delivered a deep triple to center. In the fourth, Springfield managed to score four runs off just one hit, and Acocella ended the game in the sixth as her double to left scored Lucy Puskas (Roxbury, Conn.) for the Pride's eighth run of the contest.
Ashley Pugliese (Huntington Station, N.Y.) struck out six in five innings of work and surrendered just one hit en route to the win in the circle.
