Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined to cheer on the Ironman athletes as they complete their triathlon event and cross the finish line on Court Street this morning.
Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations to all of the athletes on conquering this Ironman triathlon event. This 70.3 mile competition is a test of one’s endurance and strength. It was great to be downtown welcoming and cheering on all the athletes as they cross the finish line and to see so many visitors enjoying our city. This is a tremendous accomplishment for the competitors and their families and supporters and the City of Springfield is proud to host their world-class event.”
