Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with the Spirit of Springfield for their public safety meeting with public safety officials from the region as they discussed preparations for the 4th of July fireworks. Departments and agencies involved included the Springfield, Agawam, and West Springfield Police and Fire Departments, Springfield Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Police, State Police, Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, Springfield DPW, Jackson Security, Amtrak, AMR, and more.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Spirit of Springfield President Judy Matt, her team and all of our dedicated and brave public safety officials for their continued collaborative efforts in putting on these terrific events that lifts the spirits of our residents.  Meetings such as these, with departments and agencies from the Greater Springfield area, are the behind the scene events that take place to coordinate and make events such as our Star Spangled Springfield 4th of July Fireworks, which draws tens of thousands of visitors and families, so successful and enjoyable for all.  Thank you to all of our public safety hero’s, officials and representatives for your continued dedicated efforts on behalf of our residents and business community.”
