Ludlow Public Schools enrollment falls 1% in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,271 students enrolled in Ludlow Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1% fewer than the year before, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.3% identified as male and 48.7% identified themselves as female.

Ludlow Public Schools registered the 125th-largest enrollment in the state.

Ludlow Public Schools roughly covers schools within Hampden County, and has a main office in Ludlow.

Students in Massachusetts are predominantly white, making up 53% of the student population in the state. Hispanic students come in second, representing over 25% of Massachusetts' student body.

However, across the state, Hispanic and Native American students suffered the highest high school dropout rates.

Under representation is also found among educators in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center reported that only 9% of teachers are people of color.
