There were 23,721 students enrolled in Springfield Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% fewer than the year before, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.5% identified as male, 48.4% identified as female, and 0.1% identified themselves as non-binary or did not specify their gender.
